Being in school has to be the hardest part of life that is worth everything and decides your future. You can make school fun by giving your best! No matter what grade you are in it is hard for you. When you were in the first grade and started reading you took everything you could to get the alphabet right and now you are in such condition that you have to do the hardest algebra and write twenty million lab reports and essays and you manage time to go on Facebook or to at least have time to eat something. I am in my final year at my 'high school', I am in MYP 5 (IB school :/ International!) which is in England year 11, and in America I think sophomore year? Not sure though but anyway I have to get to DP (kind of A-level thing in England) but that is very very very hard. So I have to basically get all A*'s and A's.. Yes, that is not the easiest job ever but I have to or go to a dutch education which would take me approximatly 4/5 years to get to uni.. So hmm, anyway.
So I would say I have some tips to get your school life on track!
They are very basic but I guess, they work for me.
1) Do ALL of your homework. I know it is such a pain in the ass to do all of your homework but if you want to keep up with school, go ahead and give it a go. Do your homework, listen to music while doing it or if you can not concentrate or have to memorize something don't bother with music. But if basic homework, go ahead, enjoy yourself while working.
2) Concentrate in ALL of your classes, especially the ones you are weak at! I suck at maths, I try but I just simply don't get the heck of maths. It kills me when i have a double hour of maths which I do twice a week. A single hour in my opinion works much better for me. I realized if I concentrate in maths I actually get what the teacher is talking about but at other times when I am very tired or I have been concentrating for too long I just can't do it, and in the future I don't understand it either. So I try to pay attention the more in maths! So I know its hard but try to pay attention most of the time in classes.
3) Work during weekends! Weekend does NOT mean freedom, it means you are now responsible enough to work on the weekends 8 hours long just like you do at school, so get your books and start learning babes!
4) Stay socialized but not too much, I mean I have friends but I de-activated my facebook account, and I gotta admit when I have nothing to do I start studying instead of checking for notifications like I used to. So maybe don't stay inouch through the computer but at school or maybe at times out of school. Like on weekends go to the movies or sleepover but not through facebook or twitter or msn.
5) LISTEN TO MUSIC AND EAT! I am a girl, and I love food and music. I mean every girl does so eat and listen to music, during and after work. At my school we are allowed to listen to music while working on questions in maths or humanities or just basic things. It helps many people to concentrate. So get your earphones and iPod. And grab a chocolate and complete your work.
Good Luck!
Love,
Ramsha xx
